Gallery Hirota Fine Arts is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of his, "Takashi Yamauchi -Pilgrimage. From the Sky-" from 16th Mar. (Wed) to 26th Mar.(Sat) 2022.
Takashi Yamauchi is an interesting artist who studied wall painting and also oil painting at graduate school of Tokyo University of Arts, and now he is working on wood sculptures.
In recent years, he has been visiting places that concern praying and worship in Japan, and also those in abroad while dealing with his work.
In this solo exhibition, we present an impressionistic sculpture based on the theme of sacred dog statue (A-Un) of Mitsumine Shrine in Chichibu, which he came across while expanding the area of his local walks, due to the restricted days caused by COVID-19.
Alongside, we also have some drawings related to pilgrimages.
