EXHIBITIONS

Dates:2024/3/14(Thu)~ 3/23(Sat)
Venue:Gallery Hirota Fine Art

Gallery Hirota Fine Art will be holding an solo exhibition of Tomoyuki Kambe for the first time in two years.

"Tomoyuki Kobe Exhibition - Beloved Ones -" will be held at Art Fair Tokyo from Thursday, March 7th to Sunday, March 10th, 2024.
Gallery Hirota Art will hold a solo exhibition right after the fair, from March 14th (Thursday) to March 23rd (Saturday).

The original landscape of Tomoyuki Kambe's work is the Nagara River in his hometown of Gifu Prefecture, and he began his creation by focusing on the riverbed and the small creatures that live there.
Since the end of 2013, he has been creating his works actively, rather than passively, depicting the world of small creatures who are sincere for "living" in a single-minded, sometimes in positive manner, no matter what kind of environment they are in.
He looks at the life of small creatures that live around us, and draws them as facing their lives seriously.
Tomoyuki Kambe, who has learned a lot from the classics of Japanese art, tries to express it in a way that suits today.
I believe that he is an artist who not only adapts his techniques and appearance to the current times, but also incorporates personal and social ideas into his works with his gentle eyes.

"I am fascinated by the small creatures that live in the nature around us. Although they are small, their appearance is very dignified. Their presence changes the atmosphere around them. As I look at them closely while feeling the world, I think of the connection with them, realizing that me myself is also a small life like them.
I feel the infinite power of life from the life activities of small creatures.
In today's ever-changing world, we may feel anxiety and fear due to various difficult situations, but they have taught us the importance of being grateful for the blessings we have here and now and facing life seriously. I feel and draw it every day. "
