Gallery Hirota Fine Art will be holding a two-person exhibition titled "Foremore" by Natsuki Urushihara and Shogo Takarada from October 20th (Friday) to November 4th (Saturday).

The title of this exhibition came from a conversation we had when we were planning a two-person exhibition, in which we thought it would be interesting if the two of us could do something that we have never done before. We view the unfinished factors that artists possess as a positive possibility, and decided to hold this two-person exhibition as an opportunity to expand the range of expression and thoughts.
We believe that the desire to know, express, and see things that have not yet been seen is one of the motivations of an artist's work.
In this two-person exhibition, the two artists will present new works that actively incorporate experiments they have never attempted before.

Up until now, Urushihara has taken "the state of existence" as a major theme, while Takarada has had "love" as a major theme, and they have continued to depict their "familiar existence" in daily life. The two are from the same hometown and have both won the same Shingo Hoshino Grand Prize, so while they overlap, they are both artists who have greatly expanded their careers and are actively presenting their work today.
When you look up the kanji "mi-未" in the dictionary, it is expressed as "the time has not come yet", but it also give us a sense of something happening in the future. In this two-person exhibition, we will have them produce the pieces by having the words with kanji "mi-未" in each title.
We think it's natural for different people to imagine different things about the same word, but on the other hand, in everyday life, it is also true that we often unify them under the concept of somewhat "usual".
We would appreciate it if you would enjoy looking at their works and imagining what it would be like for you.

Additionally, the two are from the same Kanagawa prefecture and met at the Kamakura Art Institute (commonly known as Kamaken) in 2013, and this year marks the 20th anniversary.
This is the first two-person exhibition for the two, who have changed their relationship from one of instructor and student to one of two artists after 20 years.

Thank you very much for taking the time to take a look.
