We have created charm earrings with motifs of cherry blossom petals and lotus leaves from Tomoyuki Kambe's artworks.

This brass charm is made by up-cycling (reusing) metal from mines and unexploded ordnance recovered in Cambodia.
At a fair trade organization's workshop (*) in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, craftsmen carefully handcraft each item one by one without using molds.
Landmines and unexploded ordnance still remain in rural areas of Cambodia due to the effects of the long-standing civil war.
By transforming weapons, which are symbols of violence, into accessories, we hope to spread a message of peace in a world where conflicts are constant.

Artist Tomoyuki Kambe hand-applies gold leaf to the charms created by Cambodian craftsmen.
Each item is sold for one ear, and you can combine them in any way you prefer.
Charm can be removed from the earrings, so you can attach them to other accessories such as a pendant heads or bracelets.

This product is scheduled to be sold at the museum shop of the exhibition "Kambe Tomoyuki: Visualizing the Millennium - Commemorating the 1125th Anniversary of Sugawara Michizane Grand Ceremony of Dazaifu Tenmangu" held at Takasaki City Tower Museum of Art (Gunma) from April 13th (Saturday).
After the exhibition at Takasaki City Tower Art Museum (Gunma), it will be toured to Gifu Prefectural Museum of Art (Gifu) and Niimi Museum of Art (Okayama), and will also be sold at the museum shops of those museums.
