Art critic Shunji Ito has this to say about telepresence technology:

"Telepresence technology is a general term for technology that allows us to experience "that time", "there" while being "here", "now" ."

This technology is not only applicable to modern media such as "telephone" (meaning "sound in distance"), "television" (meaning "vision in distance"), or the Internet, but also to works of art such as paintings and photographs.

And these media are possible due to the human imagination, which recalls different things from events in front of us.

This art work depicts a fictional public videophone that can communicate with the past and the future. It depicts the imagination and desire of human beings to constantly try to go beyond their limits while living in a limited space and time.
