This piece is the product of my desire to directly capture the expression of joy. When thinking about what happiness meant to me, I thought of others celebrating my existence. When people wish you a happy birthday and you blow out the candles on the cake, you know that the people around you are there because they want to celebrate your existence. I wanted to express that joy directly.
