Using Ikomasanjō Amusement Park in Nara Prefecture and the playground equipment located in the park near my house as the main motifs, I drew a scene in which they are floating in the air.
In the modern era, theme parks that employ all the latest technology are scattered, and amusement parks and playgrounds inevitably exist in the real world as nostalgic apparatus, eliciting feelings of nostalgia.
Their existence not only entertains present-day people, but also embraces the past and the depth of time that has passed by. They float around in this world along with the materiality that has changed over time.
Though I worry that it may lose practicality in the future, I feel like there is a possibility that it will return to my heart at an unexpected moment, like a phantom.
Therefore, although these motifs now seem obsolete, they are still present in the real world and still function as archetypes of fantasy, or as gates that lead to a world of dreams and imagination, and I think it is as functional as the latest theme parks.
In this piece, the motif of 'future' floats and is being promoted to invite people to a world of dreams and imagination.
