Japan has four seasons, and as the seasons change, nature sprouts, scatters, and sprouts again--it is a repeating cycle. The cycle is like a circle with no beginning and no end. However, if worded differently, I think it can mean that any stage of a plant's life can be either a beginning or an end.
In New Beginnings - Spring and New Beginnings - Winter, I draw contrasting scenes of plants sprouting and plants dying, but I view both spring and winter to be positive images. In the springtime, flowers are expected to bloom, while winter marks the advent of the next life. Both mark new beginnings, and that is what I have drawn.
